The Fall Equinox…The beginning of my favorite time of year

I can’t help it. This time of year sets me on fire! I feel energized, contemplative, clear-headed, and balanced. All of the seasons have something to teach us, and Fall speaks to me in ways that no other Season can. For a lot of people Fall is just a precursor to the inevitable Winter months, but it is so much more than that. The crispness in the air, the amazing colors that Mother Nature bestows upon us, the reaping of the harvests that were worked so hard for…those are all Blessings. The Fall Equinox brings all of this to light for us.

It starts with a perfect balance of light and dark. I know that means that we are losing some of that sunshine that we all so love, but it also shows us all the work that can be done in the shadow of night. If you think about it, most of our most valuable lessons are learned during some of the darkest periods in our lives. Being grateful for everything we have been through in life is so important as it has all brought us to the point we are at right now. If you aren’t necessarily happy with where you are at this point in your life, then this is the perfect time to reflect on that and release what is no longer serving you. Fall. Let all of the things that have been holding you back Fall away. Release. Release what it is you need in order to make forward movement in your life.

The Fall Equinox is a great day to celebrate all that has been and all that is to come. There is an actual Pagan holiday called Mabon that is celebrated every year on the Fall Equinox. You don’t have to be Pagan or a Witch in order to celebrate the Fall Equinox though. I celebrate every year in a way that is special and sacred to me. This year I am having a gathering with some wonderful members of my on-line group where we all celebrate nature and ourselves together. We will also share a meal together to honor the energy and love that we share for this amazing time of year. It’s really about what YOU make of it…intention is everything. For anyone who knows me, then you have heard me make that statement a hundred times over. Any celebration of any Season, Mother Nature, Gaia, only requires your intention in doing so.

There is so much to celebrate when it comes to this time of year. The harvests have all come in by now and the energy of the Earth and all who reside here are pulled together in the celebration of abundance and prosperity. We can all now take some time to enjoy the fruits of our labor and start to settle in for the Winter ahead. We can start planning our new goals, plans, and projects for the year ahead. We can daydream and start to manifest the life we see ahead of us. It really is such a magical time for all of us. You just have to be open enough to see it for what it is.

So here it is, a few days before the Fall Equinox and I am patiently waiting for all of the amazing opportunities that lie ahead of me. I am waiting for the cool days, the crisp air, the beautiful colors, the invigorating walks in nature, and the celebrations that ensue. Don’t let this special time of year go by you without taking at least just a few moments to realize everything we have to be grateful for. That is what really matters…making the most of every single moment that we are gifted in this beautiful life that we have created for ourselves.
